5 Secure Online Payment Options For Cyber Monday Sales

By Kyle Locke

So, are you counting down the days until you can take advantage of some great Cyber Monday sales? If so, use this time to think about your online payment options. A credit card with extra protections is the obvious choice, but is it the best choice? Other online payment options exist that may offer you faster, safer and more convenient ways to shop online with less worry.

Review these five online payment options to determine if one may be a better fit this holiday season:

1. PayPal. In a nutshell, PayPal is the most popular way to send and receive money. You sign up for an account and link your bank account or credit card to your PayPal account. A vast majority of online retailers accept PayPal payments so just shop at your favorite online stores and use your PayPal account when it’s time to checkout. PayPal uses the latest anti-fraud technology and also offers an expanded buyer protection program. The upside: you do not have to re-enter your financial information with merchants. The downside: any disputes will be handled through PayPal’s dispute process. For more information visit PayPal.com.

2. Google Checkout. Like PayPal, you must set up an account and link your account to a debit card. Google Checkout, however, does not allow you to link to a checking account. The upside: disputes are resolved between you and the seller. The downside: Google Checkout is not accepted by many online merchants at this time. Go to checkout.google.com for more information.

3. Bill Me Later. About 1000 sites offer a bill you later service that allows you to buy now and pay later online or over the phone. Basically, Bill Me Later extends you credit. The company will ask you for your date of birth and last four digits of your Social Security number and then run a credit check. If you are approved, you have 25 to 90 days to pay for your purchase before you accrue interest, depending on the merchant. The upside: you do not have to use a credit card. The downside: the interest is a huge 19.99 percent and you must pay online from you savings or checking account. Visit Billmelater.com for additional information.

4. eBillme. This service provides an alternative online payment option that allows you to pay securely with cash. Currently, 820 online merchants offer eBillme as a payment option. If you select eBillme at checkout, you receive a best price guarantee, fraud protection and a satisfaction guarantee. At checkout simply select eBillme at and provide your e-mail address. The service will then send you an an eBill which you will pay through your bank’s online banking section. The upside: it’s an easy way to pay if you do not have a credit card or don’t want to use your credit card. The downside: if you are not happy with your purchase or want a refund you may have to wait up to 90 days to get your money back. Additional information is available at eBillme.com.

5. Twitpay. This online payment option is easy if you and the recipient have Twitter accounts. To use Twitpay, sign up for a Twitter account or log in to your account. Post a user message including the word “twitpay,” include the user name of the recipient and the amount. The recipient will receive an alert with instructions about how to pay. Transactions are handled via PayPal. The upside: transactions are fast and easy and you can send payments in any increment from $0.01 to $1000.00. The downside: you will pay five cents for each “twitpay” over $1 and each recipient will pay a user fee of 2.9 percent plus 30 cents. To learn more about Twitpay log on to twitpay.me.

Remember, a savvy online shopper looks for cost-savings and protections. Evaluate each of these online payment options and who knows-you may end up with an even better deal than you expected.

Link Building For SEO

by Jimmy Cox

As you should know link building for seo is very important. I want to talk about link reputation and link popularity. When we think of links getting fired to your website, there are two factors that we need to take into account, link reputation and link popularity. Link popularity has to do with how many links, or how strong the links are. It’s important to have high link popularity. The other thing that is important is reputation. We can have lots of links pointing to the website, but unless they’re pointing to the website with the right word, they’re not going to be that important.

What is a reputation? Reputation is what people say about you. What the links are saying about you is the link reputation, whereas link popularity has to do with how many links we’re getting. It’s important to have good link popularity and good link reputation.

Let’s consider ways to get inbound links. We’ll start with what I consider to be the best and easiest way. First there are articles. Articles are fantastic because there are articles directories across the internet and there are websites that collect people’s articles, almost like a repository of articles where people will go and submit articles. For submitting the article, you get to put something in what is known as the resource box. At the bottom of all articles there is a resource box, and usually it is something that points back to the author.

You can point your articles back to your website. You might go off to an article directory, and one of the best ones is EzineArticles.com. You publish your article and the resource box you link back to your website. You would make sure you have your keyword in the resource box and link it through and also you might have the url. It varies depending on the site. Some sites will let you have more links in there, and other sites will let you have fewer links there.

Articles are the best thing to do. You can get articles written- there are article services out there. You can go to rentacoder, you can go to needanarticle. You can get articles written for you, keyword optimised already and then you can publish them. An important point is that it is better to have these articles keyword optimised, and here’s why. First, you might be able to get that article to rank itself off the back of ezine articles. You might get it to come up in the search engine and rank for the keyword you are optimizing for. That’s why it’s important to have it optimized.

The other reason builds on the idea of link reputation. A link that comes from a page, if that page is on topic, is important. Let’s say we had two articles, one on dog’s health and one on the best wine. The link about wine is coming from a page about wine, so it is more important. But the real reason is, if you optimize you might get ranked in the search engine and you also might come up higher on the article directory itself. The article directory has its own search features. This can be a key feature of your link building for seo strategy.

Writing Ads That Attract Clicks

Google ads are like thousands of tiny little salesman working for you. You only have to pay them when the customer opens their door and listens to them.

The Headline

The headline in your  copy must get the attention of your customer. It happens in just a split second,    your customer decides whether your ad is relevant to them or not. You should always have your keyword placed in your headline. This will tell the customer that the ad is relevant.

The Second Line

The second line in your ad gives you another chance to convince your customer that you have what they want. You should always describe the benefits first. Benefits are the emotional payoffs that will get your customer interested. The benefits are how your product will help the customer.

The Third Line

The third line in your ad should mention the features of your product. The features will describe what the product has to offer, or what you can do for the customer.

The URL

The URL that is displayed on your ad copy can make a big difference on how many clicks you get. A URL that looks to be relevant to what the customer is looking for will likely get more clicks. Your display URL does not have to be the same as your destination URL, as long as both of them point to the same place. You can do things like eliminate the WWW in the web address, or capitalize each word in your web address. These are things that you should be testing while you are running your ads to see which one inspires the most clicks.

Your comments are always welcome.

Are you confused by DNS?

To me the term “top level domain” seems confusing as the top level of the domain is actually the part after the dot. Most people are familiar with the top level domain of .com. But there are many others. For example, .com, .net, .gov, .edu, and so on.

The whole domain name system (DNS) can be confusing to many. It is a naming system for computers, or any nod connected to the internet, including such things as printers. If it where not for DNS, we would be typing in numbers for our domain names. Imagine trying to remember the numbers to all your favorite websites.

Top level domains are the responsibility of Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). They are responsible for assigning organizations to maintain the DNS top level domains. They are a non profit organization that was founded on September 18th of 1998. Not so old really.

They are also responsible for many other tasks. Before these duties fell on the shoulders of ICANN, the job belonged to the U.S. Government. The other tasks that are assigned to ICANN include such things as [internet protocol, country code, root server system management, address space allocation, and many other functions.

Basically ICANN preserves the continuing stability of the internet.

Give me your feedback if so inclined. We appreciate it.

Do you understand PPC?

Many businesses do not fully grasp the understanding of pay per click advertising. This is because it is still fairly new in the grand scheme of things. This type of advertising has enormous potential for bringing traffic to their sites and generating potential customers.

Pay per click advertising can be quite complex and sometimes seems confusing to even those that have a thorough understanding of search engine optimization (SEO), sometimes refereed to organic search.

Pay per click (PPC) offers many businesses a marketing strategy that should at least be considered. This type of marketing allows the advertiser to place small ads on search result pages for specific keywords or keyword phrases. The advertiser will only have to pay for the ad if someone clicks on it. If no one actually clicks on the add, then the advertiser does not pay any money.

A large number of search engines offer pay per click advertising. Google of course is the most popular. Google calls their form of pay per click advertising, Adwords. But you can also use other search engines, such as Yahoo, MSN and Ask.

The components involved in creating pay per click advertisements are the title, description and the URL of which you would like the person clicking on your ad to end up at.

The title field allows for about 50 characters and is the most important. You want to have a title that is both keyword rich and also catches the attention of a possible prospect.

The description field is where you will give the user a tidbit of what you have to offer. This is a good place to describe to a potential customer the benefits of your product.

Though this may all sound easy, I have only touched on a small area of pay per click. It can be complicated to new users. It is also important to note that there are rules that must be followed as the ads are manually reviewed and strictly enforced.

Let us hear from you on your experiences with Pay Per Click. We love your feedback and advice.

What Is a Blog?

Some of us have a sense of what a blog is, but what makes a blog different than an actual website?  Anyone that has been reading blogs for a while will know that there is a difference between a blog and just any old website.

In the beginning days of blogging, they started out as personal journals, or informal link lists. But they eventually evolved into much more. So if blogs are just websites, what is it that makes them so different?

Content

For the most part, websites tend to be static pages that don’t get updated very often. They just kind of sit there waiting for people to visit. On the other hand, a blog is continually updated either weekly, daily, and sometimes even several times a day. This keeps visitors continually coming back for more information. When a new blog post gets posted it will display at the very top of the page, with the older posts getting pushed down to the bottom. This makes it nice for readers, enabling them to find the most recent information easily.

Syndication

One of the other really nice things about a blog is that it is capable of syndication using feeds. This allows people to use software that will feed the latest blog posts to their software of choice so that they can read the latest posts without actually visiting the site.

Writing Style

Blogs deliver a whole different writing style. It is more conversational than a traditional website. The blogger will usually be communicating directly to the reader. Readers are encouraged to get involved by leaving comments on the blog. This also creates a sense of community.

You can get a feel for what makes a blog interesting to readers by visiting several blogs yourself. Keep in mind while you visit these blogs, what it is that makes reading them interesting to you. What style of writing is it that draws you in and makes you want to come back for more.

Affiliate Marketing Key Players

Affiliate Marketing has been around for a long time. The Internet Marketers goal is to generate as much traffic to their site as possible and convert a percentage of those visitors into purchasers of either a product, information or services.

There was a time when it was easy to make a living as an affiliate marketer. With the constant changing of the internet the game has proven to be more difficult than it was in the past. The internet is now flooded with affiliate marketers, so the competition is high.

The Key Players in Affiliate Marketing:

Merchant

The Merchant is the player that supplies the product, services or information. They typically offer a percentage of the sale to the affiliate for their part in getting the customer over to the merchants website , if it results in a sale.

Affiliate

The affiliate is often looked at as an expert in the niche that they are promoting. They will typically set up a website that offers their visitors useful information on the product and services of the merchant. If they do a good job it will result in the visitor clicking through a link on their site, to the merchants site. If the visitor makes a purchase, the affiliate receives a percentage of that sale.

Customer

The customer would be the person that is searching for a solution to a problem that he is trying to solve. The customer will do a search using one of the major search engines, such as Google, Yahoo or MSN. The affiliates job is to offer a solution to the customers existing issue or desire. If they offer an exact solution to the problem, the customer is more likely to make a purchase.

The Network

The Network is a fourth key player. Networks offer as a go-between for both the affiliate and the merchant. They will have a large database of merchants that the affiliate marketer can apply to have a relationship with. The Network will handle all the money of sales that are generated. They handle the tracking of the sales to make sure that the affiliate gets paid.

Getting started with PPC

If you are considering using Pay Per Click as a marketing strategy, one of the biggest challenges is choosing a niche to promote. Even though there is no set system in knowing which niche will be profitable, there are some steps you can take that will get you pointed in the right direction.

You will want to create a list of self interests. You should simply take a walk around your house and create a list of things of interest to you. A good place to start would be your bookshelf. What kind of books and magazines do you read? The reason you should consider promoting products that you yourself are already interested in is because you are going to be doing a lot of writing on the subject to get your landing page set up. If you already have an interest in the topic this will make it much easier for you in the long run. Trust me, writing and making blog posts or building a website around a subject that you have no interest in will be hard to keep up. Also, if you already have an interest in the subject, you will have some level of expertise.

Once you have your list it’s time to check for interest. Start with one of the topics on your list and start typing keywords into Google related to your topic. You are going to be looking at the Adwords advertising list that gets displayed on the right side page of your search results. If you find a lot of advertising, that’s OK. If people are advertising, it means that there is money to be made. If you don’t see a lot of listings, it is possible that there is not a lot of interest.

Now that you have picked your topic and determined that there are affiliates making money, you will want to do some keyword research to find out how many people are searching daily within your niche. The more searches per day for your keywords the better. There are free tools out there that you can use to do this.

The only true way to find out if your niche is going to make you money is to run and test the ads. Keep in mind that just because the numbers above check out doesn’t mean it will be a winner. You may have to run through this process several times to find a niche that will convert for you.

Starting with a niche that is of interest to you is better than getting in a niche that you are not interested in. Making sure that other affiliates are also advertising the niche means that someone is making money advertising using Pay Per Click. Setting up your campaigns and running them will be the ultimate test in determining if it is truly profitable.

Catch them when they drop

A drop registrar is a person who buys up expiring Internet domain names as soon as they expire. The purpose in buying these expired domain names is usually to resell them for profit. Or it could be that you have come up with the best domain name ever and it is already taken. It is certainly disappointing when you put a lot of thought into a domain name and find it is already taken. And of course the next idea you come up with again, is taken. However, you still have a chance at these great domain names.

There are services and software used to detect upcoming domain names that will be expiring. You can even back order these expired domain names, and as soon as they become available, very possibly become yours. You will have to be fast in grabbing up these domains, as you won’t be the only person on the watch list.

Let’s assume you have found a really good domain name that will be expiring soon. You can place a backorder for this name, and if you are the only person interested it will be yours. However, if there is more than one person interested in buying up one of these expired names, it will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.

If you are using a service to watch domain names that you are interested in and waiting for them to expire, you will even receive an e-mail letting you know if and when anything has changed.

Every day thousands of domain names expire. You can imagine that there are probably some pretty good ones that you can grab up and make your own. You simply find the ones you want, place a backorder for them, and wait for them to become available. Just reach out and catch.

If you have experience in this process of drop catching, please leave a comment telling us your stories or experiences. I know many of you have certain companies you deal with when doing these transactions. If you have recommendations, let us know.

Thanks

Promote Yourself with PPC

Using pay per click as an advertising model to make money can be quite profitable. However, setting up your pay per click campaigns can be complex. You can have the best keyword list ever, but if it is not set up properly you’ll never make any money.

Keyword Filtering

Once you have a list of keywords that you have collected by doing keyword research you should filter through them with a fine tooth comb. As you filter through your list you will see many keywords that are not actually relevant to your market. What you want to do is to pull out these key words and put them in a separate list. You will then use this separate as your negative keywords. This will take time but it is well worth the effort. Using the keywords that are not relevant to your market that are closely related, and putting them in a negative keyword list will prevent your ads from showing when people do a search on these keywords.

Let me give you an example. Let’s say you are building a website around “dog training”. When you do your keyword research you will have many phrases related to dog training, including words like police, supplies, equipment, schools, and so on. These would be excellent keywords to add to your negative list. Keep in mind however, that as you add these words to your negative list, your negative keyword will be “police”, not dog training police, or police training dog. Just the word “police”, by itself.

Lots of affiliates neglect this step. But that’s okay for you, this only means that you will have an advantage on them. You can test this theory out by doing a search on Google. Try any keyword, and you will see that some of the ads that are displayed are not even relevant to your search.

So remember, if you are setting up pay per click advertising to generate income, take your time while putting your list together. Once the job is done and your ads are running, you’re finished. At this point you sit back and hopefully watch the money roll in.
